How can you help a relationship succeed?

Landlords. Bosses. Agents. I’ve asked the same
thing of all of them, and it’s some variation on
this: “What annoys you about (renters,
employees, clients)?”
It’s almost as if they’d never been asked the
question and can’t wait to answer it. I can’t
remember the last time I wasn’t treated to a
thirty-minute diatribe, which became a template
for how not to annoy this person.
It doesn’t guarantee you’ll become friends for life, but there’s a lot to be
said for one fewer enemy!
